The R.H. White Companies, Inc., a leading general contractor with deep self-perform capabilities, proudly announces the appointment of Thomas H. White as its new President and Chief Executive Officer. Tom becomes the fourth generation of the White family to lead the company, continuing a legacy of excellence and innovation established by his great-grandfather, Ralph H. White, in 1923.
Tom’s promotion follows the successful leadership of Jim McCarthy, who was appointed President and CEO in 2019 as part of a long-term strategic transition initiative. At that time, Chairperson David H. White emphasized that Jim’s leadership would be a critical bridge between the company’s current generation of leaders and its future stewards. Under Jim’s guidance, the organization saw sustained growth, operational excellence, and strong cultural continuity while actively mentoring and developing the next generation, including Tom.

With a deep commitment to tradition and progress, Tom brings firsthand experience and leadership to his new role. After working as a summer laborer while earning his B.S. in Construction Management from Wentworth Institute of Technology, Tom advanced through the organization in various roles, including Assistant Project Manager, Project Manager, Division Manager, President, and ultimately, President and CEO. His contributions have led to significant growth, securing and maintaining high-quality clients.
As President and CEO, Tom will be responsible for the organization’s safety culture, strategic direction, overall growth, and operational excellence. He will focus on our core purpose: to create well-being for our people, customers, and communities. His leadership efforts will underpin the company’s long-standing reputation for reliability and excellence.
