R.H. White Construction Promotes Two Veteran Employees

R.H. White Companies, a commercial construction company and water utility management firm, announced the promotion of Christopher Mayen from Manager of the Construction Services Division to Director of the company’s newly formed Employee Development and Training Department. Additionally, Tom White, fourth-generation family member and long-time employee has been named as the new Manager of the Construction Services Division – the 24-hour emergency services, renovations, and repairs arm of the company.

Chris started his career at R.H. White as a carpenter, and was promoted over the years to Foreman, Assistant Project Manager, Project Manager, Project Executive and Division Manager. His experiences, at all levels of the business, attribute to his recent advancement to Director of Employee Development and Training where he will drive the training and engagement or our employees to further their skills and education while fostering the promotion from within the company.

In this position, Chris will be responsible for developing and delivering all training and employee development solutions for the organization. He will have a strategic role that requires the delivery of “best in class” Leadership Development, Safety and Technical Training to ensure sustainability of the organization for future generations. Chris brings more than 25 years of construction experience to the position – the past 20 with R.H. White.

Chris earned his B.S. Degree in Vocational-Technical Education from S.U.N.Y. Oswego and his MBA from Nichols College in 2014.

Tom White, a fourth-generation member of the White family has been involved with R.H. White from a very young age. Throughout the past 16 years he spent time in the field working as a gas and water piper before completing his formal education. He has served as an Assistant Project Manager in the Building Construction Division, a Project Manager in the Mechanical Construction Division, and most recently as Project Manager in its Utility Construction Division.  Tom has built an impressive project management resume that ranges from a $100,000 building renovation to a $56 million, three-year major gas main expansion and installation on Cape Cod.  As manager of the service arm of the company, Tom will be responsible for safety, strategy, customer service, business development, operations, execution, as well as profit and loss for the business unit. The service division also supports the company’s three contract construction divisions with labor and resources while responding to emergency work — 24/7/365.

Tom earned a BS in Construction Management from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, MA.
