Tri-Valley, Inc.’s goal has always been to provide assistance to people with disabilities and also to the elderly in the area. The organization outgrew its previous location and was looking to relocate to a larger and more accessible building.
When they chose to relocate to the third floor of the former Stevens Linen Mill Building in Dudley, MA, R.H. White was able to help them build a more modern, larger, one-floor office which houses about 75 full time employees daily at the nonprofit agency’s headquarters.
Because the agency designed the facility, it was easier to lay out offices, work spaces, meeting rooms, the library and the lunchroom for greatest efficiency. The facility’s 20,000 square feet is 33 percent larger than their former office. To make it easier for the employees to gain access to the new facility, a large parking lot was built behind the building.
Highlights of the new facility include:
A lunchroom that can hold 60 people; a third of the space is used mornings for preparation of Meals-on-Wheels for Webster and Dudley. The decor includes walls of soft blue and green for their calming effects, although the lunch room is a raspberry sherbet to help people get re-energized. The former lunchroom held four people.
Four meeting and conference rooms, one of which can hold 100 people. The agency now is able to hold annual meetings here.
A security system and private rooms for the protection of abused, neglected or financially exploited elderly people. The agency is designated as a Protective Services Agency and last year served 669 elderly under that designation.
