R.H.White Construction modified the existing water filtration plant with the objective of increasing its capacity. The primary task was construction of two additional 12’ x 70’ settling basins and all associated mechanical equipment including automated sludge removal system, tube settlers, slide gates, flocculators and mixers. The existing basin was also retrofitted with identical equipment. Additionally, the plant piping was modified inside and out, and new dewatering pumps and blowers were installed. New chemical feed systems were installed including new tanks, pumps and all piping for four different chemicals. Finally, the plant’s SCADA system and remote radios were updated for operation of the modified system.
