Help Find A Cure

R.H.White Construction Company joins the South Charlton Reservoir Association (SCRA) Ski Club who is celebrating it’s 50th Anniversary this year. Founded in 1956, the SCRA Ski Club is one of the oldest continuously operating water ski clubs in the United States. SCRA's mission is to promote water skiing and wakeboarding as healthy and fun alternative activities for young people and to encourage community involvement among its members. To support this mission the SCRA Ski Club has set a goal of raising $50,000 for three charities: the Worcester County Food Bank, Why Me and Sherry's House and the PKD Foundation.

The Worcester County Food Bank collects, inspects, and stores donated food and grocery product and distributes it through a network of 283 partner agencies to help feed hungry people living in 72 cities and towns in Central Massachusetts. The Food Bank serves as an advocate for agencies providing hunger-relief services.

The Why Me organization was created and is managed by families who have had a child treated for cancer at the University of Mass. Memorial Medical Center and wish to help other families who now face cancer. This deeply felt, personal perspective serves as a guiding light in delivering services that are essential, compassionate and life affirming.

Polycystic Kidney Disease is the most common genetic, life threatening disease affecting more than 600,000 Americans and an estimated 12.5 million people worldwide regardless of sex, age, race or ethnic origin. In fact, PKD affects more people than cystic fibrosis, muscular dystrophy, hemophilia, Down syndrome and sickle cell anemia combined.

Our Team Challenge event is an excellent opportunity for you to take a pro-active role in contributing towards finding a cure for PKD and for providing financial assistance to the Worcester County Food Bank, Why Me, and the PKD Foundation.

Every dollar counts, so it doesn’t matter how much you raise. However, there is a $500 team minimum requirement to be eligible for fundraising bonus points. Take up the challenge—become a Team Challenge entrant. You’ll enjoy the experience and have fun at the same time! There are bonus points for the team who raises the most money and lunch is free for participants and volunteers. $10 for guests.

We are relying on your participation in this fundraiser. Whether you walk, bike, run, swim, canoe or eat pies, you can help make a difference!!
